I'm gearing up to travel across America and talk with people about why they go to church. Or don't.

For awhile I've been contemplating how many people attend church services on a regular basis, why they do it, and what they get out of it, if anything.

There seems to be a disconnect for some between feeling the need to be sitting in a church on Sunday and using what they hear there to ameliorate their everyday lives.

And if that is the case, what exactly is the point of going? Is there one?

I aim to find out.
